I haven’t slept in my bed in months.

That’s not an exaggeration—it’s just been me and a chair. Upright. Night after night. Not because I wanted to, but because somewhere along the way, life got too heavy, and so did the mess. The bed became a dumping ground, and the chair became a last resort.

But today hit different.

No dialysis. No strict schedule. Just some chores and a whole lot of mess. So I gave myself a mission: reclaim the room, one piece at a time. And because no mission is complete without a battle soundtrack, I fired up something new—Rage’s Power Playlist. Heavy riffs. Aggressive energy. A little doom. A little chaos. Basically the musical version of kicking your own ass into gear.

And it worked.

I started with laundry and breaking down boxes, and before I knew it, I was deep in the trenches—clearing trash off the bed, cleaning up the basement, and jamming out to bands like Power Trip, Type O Negative, and Ghost. I even threw some Kittie in there, because honestly, what’s a proper rage-fueled cleaning session without something that screams back at the mess?

I didn’t even stop when I was “supposed” to. I kept going right up until lunch.

By the time I sat down to eat, the floor was visible. Clean. My bed? Still not sleep-ready, but the trash was gone. The foundation was there. I could see the finish line. And that felt huge.

I’m not gonna pretend the room is perfect now, or that everything’s fixed. I’m still sleeping in the chair tonight, mostly because I need to wash the sheets and my cousin needs to get laundry done too. But tomorrow? That bed is mine.

This wasn’t just about getting a room clean. It was about getting me back—finding that spark, that push, that soundtrack to go from “maybe tomorrow” to “right now.”

One thing that made a massive difference? ChatGPT. Yeah, the AI. It helped me plan out my day, keep on track, and stay motivated when I might’ve just bailed. It helped me build the playlist, suggested the structure, and basically acted like a personal coach in my pocket. The music recommendations alone set the mood perfectly and fired me up when I needed it most.

If you’ve been stuck in survival mode, if the clutter’s been winning, or if you just need something to light a fire under your ass, throw on this playlist and start moving. You don’t have to finish the whole thing today. Just win one round.

Then turn it up, and go win the next.
